Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls (モンスター娘のいる日常, Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou) Chapter 5 is the fifth chapter of the Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls manga series.

Written and drawn by mangaka Okayado (Inui Takemaru), this chapter was released in Japan on July 19th, 2012, by the Japanese publishing company Tokuma Shoten within the seinen manga and anime magazine, Monthly Comic Ryū.

The chapter was later gathered as part of the series' tankōbon volume Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Volume 1.

Plot[]

Miia attempts to assert her dominance in the household by applying fake rules to the homestays, claiming that the monster girl with the most seniority in the house has the most authority. Centorea criticizes her for making up rules, explaining that she knows she is lying because she has memorised Interspecies Cultural Exchange Accord. Kimihito enters the room with a hoofprint around his eye to tell Centorea that she needs to fill out a homestay application. Miia prepares to argue with Centorea for hurting Kimihito, but he quickly explains that she hit him when he walked in on her in the shower. Kimihito defending Centorea upsets Miia, so she argues with her anyway. As the two argue, Papi becomes frustrated trying to understand the Interspecies Cultural Exchange Accord rules, she decides she wants to take a bath and invites Kimihito. He suggests she asks to bathe with one of the other two girls, but goes with her since Miia and Centorea are still fighting.

In the bathroom, before Papi can strip down, Kimihito shows her the bathing suit Agent Smith gave her. He offers to wait outside while she changes but Papi explains that she cannot change into the suit by herself with her hands. Kimihito keeps his eyes closed while helping Papi into her suit but accidentally slides his hands across the sides of her chest in the process. As the two of them float in the bath Papi explains that she thinks of the two as brother and sister, and that she has always wanted a brother because all harpys are female. Kimihito says that he would not mind being her brother, however Papi has confused the word "lover" with "brother" and places his hand on her chest. With Kimihito fighting off Papi she decides to take him by force, but before she can assault Kimihito she is thwarted by Centorea, who had just learned that she was an adult and not a child.

Riding to the park with Kimihito to escape the other girls, Centorea reveals a bit about her culture. She explains that as a centaur, she is a warrior who values her allegiance to her master above all else. Kimihito tried to convince her to tone down her master-and-servant cultural values, he successfully convinced her to relax when he mentioned she is a part of a cultural exchange, so she should try other things. Seeing a couple holding hands nearby, Centorea tells Kimihito that she wants to try holding hands. She quickly decides that her request was unbefitting to ask of her master, but Kimihito holds her hand after she says this. Centorea becomes so embarrassed by her blushing that she holds Kimihito's head to her chest so he cannot see her.

Miia and Papi arrive and become jealous, starting an argument that quickly resorts to the three girls preparing to fight. Smith arrives and attempts to disrupt them by tranquillising them, hitting Kimihito with all three shots by accident.

As Kimihito recovers at home the girls apologise for their rowdiness but Kimihito says that he is okay and that they should treat each other as family and not restrain themselves for his sake. Just then Smith explains that the Interspecies Cultural Exchange Accord is being revised to allow liminal/human marriage, except this revision needs a test case. Smith states that she wants Kimihito to marry one of the three girls.

Key Events[]

  • Centorea takes short gallops around the neighbourhood every morning.
  • It is revealed that Miia and Papi are not allowed to wander from the homestay alone, but Centorea is.
  • The Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill has been amended. Instead of prohibiting it, they now encourage inter-species copulation and marriage, Kimihito Kurusu is chosen as the test case to determine stability of said amendment. To do this, he should now marry either Miia, Papi, or Centorea.

Trivia[]

  • Centorea didn't know it herself during her conversation with Kimihito, but her statement that her father is a valiant knight was not true, as it is later revealed in Chapter 29 that the male Centaur, who Centorea's mother was forced to marry, is not Centorea's biological father.
